DBS – Formerly CRB:
One 1st December 2012 the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independence Safeguarding Authority (ISA) merged to form the Disclosure and Barring Services. The CRB application form was replaced with a new DBS application form; the form now reflects the change of name along with a new logo together with some wording and format changes.
From the 1st May 2016, the ECB will be able to accept DBS checks from other organisations providing the individual is already registered with the DBS online update service. Individuals should contract GB Group at ECBchecks@gbgplc.com or telephone 08452513000 to request the necessary consent form and documentation. Individuals are encourages to read the guidance carefully to ensure they have the correct type of check and be sure they have registered with the DBS update service.
The roles in cricket that require ECB Vetting are:
- Welfare Officer
- Volunteer Co-ordinator
- Coach (Volunteer or paid, assistant or lead)
- Colt/Junior Manager
- Age group manager
- Open-age team captain
- Junior supervisor
- First aider/physiotherapist/medical support

DBS certificates need to be renewed every 3 years.
If you have an Overseas player that will be working with u18s they will require to complete something different to the DBS. Please contact Patricia on patricia.Hankins@nccc.co.uk to request the correct form.
