Northants Steelbacks VICCC were founded in 2002 and have been playing competitive cricket since 2005. In the club’s twelve seasons there have been some team and individual successes but the club’s biggest focus has been enabling visually impaired people of any age, male or female, to both play and enjoy playing cricket.

In 2017 the county will play in the Blind Cricket England & Wales (BCEW) National League and Twenty20 Cup as well as the British Blind Sport Primary Club Cup.
