Northants Recreational Cricket is a Community Interest Company with a Board of Directors.
NRC is responsible through the County’s Cricket Development Manager (CDM) – Derek Styman, for the delivery of Northamptonshire’s Cricketing objectives which are agreed with the ECB each year.
The CDM heads up a team which includes a paid workforce (The Development Team) and various Committees and Volunteers from the stakeholder community. The work of the Development Team is overseen by an Operational Management Team (OMT). The OMT is made up of individual volunteers whom the CDM believes have the necessary skill sets to take Northants Recreational Cricket forward.

There is a close working relationship between Northants Recreational Cricket (NRC) and the Northants County Club which runs the professional County sides – The Steelbacks. However the two organisations are separate and financially independent.
Support and development of all amateur cricket in the County is a huge task and there is much work to be done. We are therefore forced to prioritise.
The initial efforts were focussed on getting the governance framework up and running.
Our strategic priorities will then be governed by striking a balance between those areas of greatest need and those which meet the ECB’s priorities for funding support.
