New DBS Application procedure in place

On 23rd October a new procedure for applying for or renewing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check was introduced. This replaced the old paper based application. All applications must now be  initiated by an accredited DBS verifier within cricket who knows the applicant and the role that they are carrying out. In practice, this means that most applicants must now contact their Club Welfare Officer to commence the DBS procedure. The following positions within cricket MUST be DBS vetted :

  • Welfare Officer
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Coach (Volunteer or paid, assistant or lead)
  • Umpire
  • Scorer
  • Colt/Junior Manager
  • Age group manager
  • Open-age team captain
  • Junior supervisor
  • First aider/physiotherapist/medical support
