Northants Coaches Association Conference 2017

Following the success of the Bowling and Batting Workshops run in early 2016 the Northants Coaches Association are pleased to announce they will be running a Coaches Conference on Saturday 1st April between 9am-5pm.

Coaches will get the opportunity to experience 4 workshops through the day and learn from previous first class cricketers and coaches.

Regional Training Manager Cookie Patel, a Level 4 coach, will be joining forces with Northants Performance coach Kevin Innes to deliver a fielding masterclass. Cookie specialises in developing and improving fielding performance. He has worked as a fielding coach with the likes of Northants and Derbyshire as well as England’s women over the years and we are very much looking forward to his delivery on this year’s conference.

Barry Goudriaan and Chris Lorkin are respectively Northants’ Sports Science and Medicine Lead and  Strength and Conditioning coach. Barry has a long involvement with the club dating back to 2004. As well as his role with NCCC he has also worked with Northampton Saints rugby club and with the England Under-19s squad. Chris recently joined the NCCC Support staff from Aston Villa Football Club, he played a key role in the physical preparation and recovery strategies for 1st Team players through gym and field based training to optimise performance and reduce injury risk, with specific focus in the gym. Barry and Chris will be delivering a cricket wellness workshop during the coaching conference.

After the sucsess of his workshop last year, we are delighted that former Northamptonshire captain David Sales will be taking part in this years coaching conference once again. With over 14,000 first class runs for the county in a glittering 20 year career, he is one of the most respected batsmen of his generation. Now a Level 3 coach, Sales will be delivering a batting masterclass and passing on great drills and ideas for you to use during your sessions.

The final deliverers on the 1st April will be Northamptonshire’s Fast Bowling and Academy Head Coach, Phil Rowe and Northants Recreational Cricket Senior Development Coach Matthew Barnes. Their session will help club and player pathway coaches to get the most out of their sessions.

The cost for the Coaching conference will be £15 for Coaches Association members and £30 for non members. The day includes the 4 workshops, tea and coffee, lunch, a coaching conference t shirt and a discount voucher to be used at the New County Ground Shop.
